Takashi Murakami: The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg will be the first solo presentation of this extraordinary Japanese artist’s work in Canada. Murakami is one of the world’s most influential artists, known as the Japanese Andy Warhol for his bright, Pop Art-influenced aesthetic and successful bridging of high and low culture, along with a mixing of Eastern and Western conceptions of art. His work often expresses a deep concern about natural disasters in the artist’s homeland of Japan.
